Volunteer through Mountain Justice!

Work for a grassroots group fighting for social and environmental justice in Appalachia - it's easy!

Mountain Justice has created a plug-in model aimed at recruiting and placing volunteers and interns to work for grassroots-level community groups that deal directly with coal-mining issues. The Volunteer Coordination Team is committed to serve as liasons between those interested in helping on the ground, and those local groups who would most benefit from that help - we will assist in matching potential volunteers, according to their desires and skill sets, with work suitable to them and to the needs of a given grassroots group.

People in all walks of life are encouraged to apply for these opportunities. Internships, field research, college credit, or a number of other personal benefits could arise from this experience. Simply fill out the application form and return it to a Mountain Justice representative, or go online to fill out and submit it. Regardless of the timeframe of your commitment, we encourage volunteers to continue to participate in Mountain Justice work throughout the year in any way you can.

Do you have questions? The Mountain Justice volunteer intake group can be emailed at volunteer [ at ] mountainjustice.org.
